In a letter to the Activision Blizzard community, Bobby Kotick talks about the progress and commitments made at Activision Blizzard. “There has never been a more exciting time in our industry. Our company is in a strong financial position, with record revenue and profits for the first nine months of 2018. We are continuing to make significant investments across our portfolio of studios and businesses,” he says.
Kotick also talks about the Blizzard brand and its future. “Our expectations for Overwatch League are high, but we believe that our focus on creating content and experiences worthy of our players’ passion will lead to a successful inaugural season,” he says in this post from November 20th.
“Blizzard plans to continue investing in the Overwatch League, and we believe our investment will pay off,” he adds. “We expect more viewership hours of live eSports in 2018 than ever before.”

The Activision Blizzard CEO also talks about Call of Duty’s history as well as its future. “Call of Duty has been an important part of 21st-century warfare for nearly 15 years”, Kotick writes after describing how it started with a team-based concept that evolved into today’s diverse player community. He then goes on to say: “we are committed to supporting this franchise for many years to come across every mode of play, including the recently announced PC version that we are co-developing with Beenox.”
